The central government is preparing to release the 20th installment of the PM Kisan scheme soon. However, to receive this benefit, completing the e-KYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) process is now mandatory. Failure to complete this crucial step in time will result in farmers missing out on the upcoming installment of ₹2000.
Why is e-KYC Mandatory?
The government has made e-KYC compulsory to ensure transparency and to verify the identity of the beneficiaries. Many farmers might assume that since they received previous installments, the money will continue to be credited without any further action. However, the government has clarified that no beneficiary will receive the next installment without completing their Aadhaar verification. This means that if you are a beneficiary of this scheme, you must complete your e-KYC to avoid your payment of ₹2000 getting stuck.
When is the 20th Installment Expected?
According to media reports, the funds for the 20th installment will be transferred directly into the bank accounts of the eligible farmers soon. Under the PM-KISAN scheme, the government provides financial assistance of ₹6000 per year to farmers in three equal four-monthly installments of ₹2000 each.
How to Complete Your e-KYC Online
The process to complete your e-KYC online for the PM Kisan scheme is simple and can be done from the comfort of your home. Follow these steps:
- Visit the official PM-KISAN website: pmkisan.gov.in
- On the homepage, look for the ‘Farmers Corner’ and click on the “e-KYC” option.
- You will be prompted to enter your Aadhaar number.
- After entering your Aadhaar number, an OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
- Enter the OTP in the provided field to complete the e-KYC process.
How to Complete Your e-KYC Offline
If you are unable to complete the process online, you can do so offline by visiting your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC).
- Visit your local CSC.
- Remember to carry your Aadhaar card with you.
- At the CSC, your KYC will be completed using biometric authentication (fingerprint scan).
All farmers who have not yet completed their PM Kisan e-KYC are strongly advised to do so today, either online or by visiting a CSC, to ensure they receive the benefits of the 20th installment without any delay.
